Any suggestions on what to get a single mom (if anything) for Father's Day from her Daycare provider? I watch my friends son weekly and didn't quite know what was appropriate in this kind of situation. The so called "father" hasn't been there since before birth. Any suggestions would be great!

Flowers with a card that is inscribed: "You are the Mother and the Father to your child and you are doing a wonderful job with him. Thinking of you on this day of celebration. With love and admiration..."

I think it is sweet of you to even consider it, so I'm sure anything would be okay, most single moms aren't EXPECTING anything for mother's day let alone Father's Day (believe me I know, while I AM married my husband is in the military and out of 5 Mother's Days I've been a mom he has been home only 2 of them). I'm sure she will just appreciate the thought! A card would be fine (if you give her a gift make sure it is about HER, a gift cert. at a spa for a massage, or something that pampers HER OR if you are able, give her a "discount" for your daycare services for that day)

i like tatmomx7 's answer. my mom used to always send a card to he rmother on father's day b/c her parents were divorced and her dad neer saw his kids. So, for those of you who don't think it is important to acknowledge a single mother on father's day I think you are wrong!! You are acknowledging that your mother is doing extra duty as playing the paternal role also and that she is doing a great job. I wish I could still tell my grandmother how awsome she was!!

Have her child make something for her. A card, a poem or something like that. If the gift is coming from you, then I think a card would be appropriate.

maybe just a nice card saying thinking of you on this day you are the mother the father the rock of the family. maybe i don't know its a hard one.

the mother already had her day, it's called mother's day. if mother's celebrated other days then whats the point of having a special day.
