Racoons are a nuisance in a suburban setting. In addition to the problems already identified in other answers, they can carry rabies. This is a real problem in some parts of the country. To be on the safe side, I would have them removed and access to the tree blocked. If a rabid raccoon bit one of the children, how would you explain that you know that they were there, but didn't think they would do any harm?

Good luck with your raccoon problem.

Racoons are nocturnal.Unless your letting the kids out at night you should'nt have a problem.Don't try to get rid of them yourself as it is against the law to disturb a den tree.An Animal warden might be covinced to move them if you can show propety damage.i.e.they tear up your garbage,(which they are inclined to do)or are terrorising your pets. They are a lot more afraid of you than you are of them. But like most animals, including humans, they will fiercly protect they're young.

They COULD be yes. More than likely not, if left alone they should leave you alone as well. However with kids you can never be too carefull. Better to call your local animal control to remove them than take a chance with a child getting hurt.

i might say funds tree, yet i already have been given a funds tree in terms of organisation so a donut tree that produces each and every variety of donuts that are actually not undesirable for you would be heaven in a bow.
