does bud [weed] need special soild to grow on??

i know it need special care and everything...it's just that i went to my uncles house and noticed a plant outside that looked AND smelled like bud, he denyed it...but could it have been?

canabis sativa - has surely come a long way since the 60's!!
The other answers are true - it is a weed and needs no special attention.....however, to get the best bud you really need to make sure that there are no male plants at all. If you have a male (you will notice little balls - females have white/cream colored pistons and (obviously) no "balls". Pure females - ones that have not been pollinated by the males are called sensimilla and this is the pot that you want. As far as whats growing at your uncles place - it could be a japanese maple since they look similar to the marijuana leaf - kind of....... You can throw seeds outside, and yes it will grow. It does not need anything special, after all it is a weed!!
