Please, if the Soviets had spies into the deepest corners of the US gov't during the Cold War, you know they would have found out if the moon landings were faked.

Absolutely, positively true. We landed on the moon.
When did someone last get hit by a train? One month ago, we had a girl hit by the Amtrak train that runs the northeast corridor -- in fact, it happens more often than it should, so that's no proof that Mr. Baron was on to something, except perhaps the railroad tracks when he shouldn't have been.
People, we need to get our heads out of our backsides over this one. We were in a serious competition with the Soviets, our mortal enemies, in the race to the Moon. If the landings had been faked, do you honestly believe they wouldn't have made such a stink about it that we'd have had to admit that the landings were faked?
Stop believing those conspiracy theory nut-jobs, and look at some real science for a change.
The shadows WERE NOT in the wrong places.
The flag WAS NOT waving in the wind.
It does NOT look like Area 51 -- I've been there!
So get your heads together and start using your brains for something besides paperweights! Geez!

Although my wife's father did perform fuel calculations for the original Apollo landing, I'll spare you that speach. Instead, I will encourage you to watch two programs. The first show is called Conspiracy Moon Landing that it currently showing on the National Geographic Channel and it pretty much obliterates all of the popular conspiracy theories, including yours.
The I would also encourage you to watch a movie called Capricon One. Made it 1978, it is a fictional movie about a fake mission to mars. Although it is a science fiction story, it is a good example of how utterly impossible it would be to fake a moon landing for any length of time.
12 men walked on the moon from 1969 to 1972 and we simply don't have the resources nor technology to pull off that big of a hoax for so long. Hundreds of thousands of people have worked on the space program. It would be far easier to put someone on the moon than to try and fake it and keep it secret for nearly 40 years.
The landings came at a time when our space program was ultra competitive with the former Soviet Union. Remember how big of a deal it was when Sputnik was put into orbit? They had the technology to monitor our moon shots and transmissions. Don't you they they would have called is out if they have evidence that it was all fake?
Perhaps the most definitive proof of our trip to the moon is what we left behind. For the last 30+ years, scientist have been beaming lasers to the moon and meansuring the return times. How are they doing this? Because the beams are reflected back by equipment left on the moon on in onto 1 but 3 different locations.
Case closed.

It happened. The US govt. isn't smart enough to pull off a hoax that would fool the entire world for over 30 years. It only took a couple years for the whole Watergate thing to hit the fan - and that was just trying to cover up a couple guys breaking into an office.
Get real. I've lived in Florida for about 35 years and have seen many rocket launches, some from my back yard almost 200 miles away from the KSC. Why would they go to all that trouble?
Besides - this question is really old and tired. It's already been asked about ten thousand times.

It's just tragic that this question keeps coming up, and even more so when you understand that those of you who believe in a "hoax" have absolutely no understanding of either science or common sense. A few points for the "hoaxers" :
-The shadows are NOT in the wrong places. They are exactly where shadows are supposed to be given both the level of the ground and the perspective at which they were taken. A simple study in photography and/or physics will show you this.
-The hubble CANNOT, in fact, resolve images as small as the lunar buggies, nor anything else that still sits on the moon. It was designed to view galaxies thousands of light years across not to view images along the order of a few meters. And there are no Earth-based telescopes with this ability either.
-The flag did have a horizontal rod going across its top. Obviously, if this wasn't there the flag would have rested against the vertical pole. It was made of a plastic material, not cloth, which gave it its wrinkled appearance simply because it didn't extend all the way to the end of the horizontal pole. In addition, the flag was NOT waving, except when the astronauts were trying to work the pole into the lunar surface. Air or no air the end of the flag would have moved when the pole was shaken around. Incidentally, for those who are so smart and KNOW it was a hoax: If the flag was waving from some sudden wind why exactly don't we see any dust flying about?
-No stars in photos...answered a thousand times. Learn and understand photography and the properties of light. Or better yet go outside on the next sunny day and take a picture of the sky and tell me how many stars are in the photo. Atmosphere or not, you can't take pictures of very faint objects when you are being washed in sunlight. It simply doesn't work.
-Radiation...This is the favorite of those who want to make themselves sound smart but have no clue what they're talking about. The Van Allen Belts can indeed be dangerous if subjected to them for extended amounts of time. The Apollo astronauts were not subjected to this.
-The cover up...The Russians, our worst enemy and space rival at the time, had every capability to track the lunar missions to the moon and back. And yet they never cried hoax. Interesting.
-During the time, NASA employed nearly 400,000 people, both under contract and in-house. Parts had to be made, engines built, plans devised, people prepared, see where I'm going? How do you keep a secret with that many people for so long? Answer, you don't.
-Okay, so you say, "well, only a handful of people knew about it..." Alrighty then, what about the thousands who actually made all the components and were told these components had to take men to the moon. Either these people say it cannot be done or they're in on the lie.
So you have two conclusions...Either you understand that 400,000 people were actually in on an impossible lie or that it was possible to send a man to the moon.
BTW, if the government was so smart and so good at creating and maintaining such an elaborate hoax how could they have made so many idiotic "mistakes" and allowed everyone to figure it out? Are we assuming that the world's best scientists are not bright enough to notice these? Please.
-These things go on and on, too numerous to discuss here. I suggest you people learn how to read and discover things for yourselves before you start believing mocked-up truths that have absolutely no basis in reality. Oh, and BTW, every one of you who says that because we haven't been back to the moon in 30 years proves that we never went...that statement borders on idiocy that I can't even fathom.
It's incredibly sad when people begin taking such a monumental human achievement and start wrapping it in myth, all because their understanding of what was and what is possible is beyond their own level of thought.
And yet, another edit : To Solarentric below...
Quote : "The stars were in the wrong place and the sky was reflecting like paint."
- Stars could not been seen in the photos so I'm not sure exactly where you think you got your information. If you're gonna be one the "hoaxies", or "idiots" as I like to call them, at least get a valid argument.
Quote "The dust hit the ground too quick."
- Hehe...you've managed to make my argument for me. The dust falling quickly is EXACTLY what happens to it in a vaccuum. Had the film been shot in a studio the dust would have billowed and hung in the air. One again, understand before you speak..
Quote "My grandma was at a planetarium using a telescope and no craft landed from her eye."
-Repeat after me. NO, and I mean NO earth based telescopes can resolve images as small as the Apollo landers when they're on the Moon. Even the Hubble can't do this! Your grandmother was (my condolences) either lying, mistaken, or high. Pick one.
I would LOVE to edit this some more. Anyone else have a some powerful "evidence" they would like refuted? Step right up.

I cannot believe that people are asking this question. Or that people think no one walked on the moon. Who are you people? Were your home towns settled by congenital morons or something?
EVERY single "point" that the 'non-landing' conspiracy nuts put forward have been refuted out of hand. In fact thier "best" argument relies on the radiation given off by the Van Allen belt. They say (incorrectly of course) that people would die instantly if they passed through it. When the question was posed to Dr. Van Allen himself, he described the notion as "preposterous".
So how do the freaks explain the three seperate reflectors left behind by Apollo missions 11, 14 and 15? These reflectors are used on a daily basis by observatories around the world.
Did they grow there?
You see, the moment you use logic and critical thought on these tinfoil hat wearing idiots, they run screaming back to thier mom's attic to chat online with thier friends. They cannot stand actual logic and the truth is a dirty word to them.
The astronauts filmed the moon footage on the MOON. Face facts ok?

It was faked. Why did no one hear about major interests in space exploration until the Russians launched Sputnik? All the early attempts by the U.S. to catch up with the Russians in space technology failed miserably (even being called "flopniks"). And, suddenly we put men on the moon? Why haven't there been any more moon landings in recent years? The government had to do something to show we could beat the Russians in the field. What better way than walking on the moon when all they could do was orbit earth?

The stars were in the wrong place and the sky was reflecting like paint. The dust hit the ground to quick. My grandma was at a planetarium using a telescope and no craft landed from her eye, it orbited and went back. Almost like they were but something went wrong and they had to go back home. So they had to film it in a studio. It was such a good film they got the same money as they would get if they went to the moon.
I can't blame them for filming it. If I'm a thicko I'm sure that anyone who believed the landing is something most horrible like they are brain-dead.
Although my grandma's dead now she saw it.

The Moon landing was real, because those who claim it isn't are as thick as pig sh*t, have no sense of reality, and never let the true facts of the differences between being on the Moon and being here on Earth get in the way of their pathetic arguments.

What offends me in your 'question' is this:
"Trust me your father would NOT tell your if this was real or not".
How can you assume what my father would tell me? You don't know me, or my father.
The last time I heard of someone getting hit by a train was Tuesday. There are much simpler ways to knock someone off that to trying to get a train to hit them. Think about it.

True. The flag wasn't waving, it was a specially made flag - not made out of cloth - it is made to stand.
What would be the point of faking a moon landing? It would be really funny, get everyone to watch then saw, ha, ha, got ya!! But, I don't think so. It's true.
