I don't know if there are any statistics on the safest state, but I have traveled in about 45 states, and feel that Maine is probably one of the safest. They have some nice salt water beaches (Bar Harbour, Old Orchard Beach) on the Atlantic Ocean. Camping is popular, as well as antique shopping, normal shopping, fairs, garage sales, that type of thing. No poisonous snakes either. If your question included a liitle more of your likes and dislikes as well as which particular area of US you can go, it would be easier for us to recommend particular areas or cities
have fun anyway!

Where there are no pervs, bad guys, robbers, rapists, murderes, stalkers, ceral and serial killers, etc etc in other words there is no safe place.. the bad people are everywhere the only thing you can do is keep your home and you family as safe as possible.

Michigan, particularly West Michigan (see map below). There are plenty of vacation spots all along the coast of Lake Michigan.
