Prometheus.

Greatest sacrifice for mankind/

He flew to the sun, brought back fire, and gave it to man.

He was punished, by being chained to a mountain. Every day, a great bird came and ate his liver. At night it was restored, so that it could happen again.

Great story.

Doesn't have the contradictions of the Jesus story, but it's more gruesome. The pain doesn't end on the third day.

I suppose if people still believed in Prometheus, they'd blame the Jews for his fate.

Aphrodite and Gaia are the Goddesses I honor most. I am also very fond of Hermes.

My favorite hero(iene) is Clytemnestra, but I'm a fan of the whole Mycenean saga she got caught up in.

My absolute favorite story is the flood story of Deucalion and Pyrrha and the whole "Throw the bones of your mother behind you" I love that.

PS I am not Wiccan, these aren't Wiccan deities, they are Hellenic deities. ie. Greek. But they are still worshiped by many people.

well, Drizzt Do'Urden, i don't have a favorite Greek myth figure, but i sure will inform Artemis Entreri where you're hiding so that he can come to prove to you, once and for all, that humans are better swordsmen than Drows.
