Knowledge should be part of it.
God is the basis of Faith. But bible quotes and interpration does not have to be the only basis for explaining or rationalizing belief. We can explain faith with philosophy, reason, logic, even science when applied properly and honestly.
We are to love God with all our Heart, all our Mind, and all our Soul. Loving God with our minds means acquiring knowledge about Him - and using that knowledge to explain and validate faith.

No. By disregarding your conditional statement (if/then) and only basing my answer on what I understand of knowledge...K>JTB, or knowledge is more than a justified true belief, as demonstrated by the surprise factor. Since K>JTB; then a belief is is necessary for knowledge, and you would fall into a cartesian circle trying to base a belief on knowledge.
To _-_: the difference between faith and belief, is the proof, or facts that you have. Faith is something people hold when there is no real justifiable reason to believe in something. I do not need faith in believing that 'I' exist. There is a justifiable reason for me to believe that fact.

Knowledge is a feeling just like any other. "I believe I know" is no different than "I know".
It revolves around the problem of 'no place to stand'. That is, where can you stand outside of your own self to check yourself?
We have a couple of methods that we rely on. One is looking back with today's self at yesterday's self. Another is asking other selves what they think (we call this one science). A third is predicting for a future self to check.
None of these is all that we would ask for. None is perfect. We do the best that we can anyhow.
