Your problem is electrical....when you accelerate the voltage required to fire the spark plug increases. Therefore the following might cause the problem: distributor cap & rotor, plug wires, spark plug/plugs or coil...If you are not a skilled mechanic take it to a shop that has a scope which will pin-point the problem in a few minutes.
A certificed mechanic will save you time and money. Much better than guessing and replacing parts by chance you might find the problem...

Bad accelerator pump in the carb. Needs a rebuild kit.
A no-start condition in the rain is probably either cracked and worn ignition leads or a cracked distributor cap, or both.
You also need to replace the PCV hose and clean out the vacuum ports under the carb.

Yes clean the ports change the hose and the valve. Check the dist for water intrusion, clogged vent hole, etc. Check the vac. advance it will cause this problem also. Can rain reach your breather?(hood scoop) Water down the carb will keep it from starting.

Sounds like a crack in the distributor cap.
when you excelerate it advances the timing to where the crack isin the cap.
Also take off that quadrajet and install a holley..

Plug wires, Look at the wires in the dark, Have someone rev engine. If you see spark replace the plug wires
