Once a school board makes up it's mind, the game is over. You could support the teachers by supporting any action they choose to take, such as sickouts or walkouts. My experience is that teachers teach for the love of teaching (not all) and that if they get stepped on, they won't mind too much.
You must be in a state with a weak teachers union. In NY or CA, this probably wouldn't fly.

Who pays the salaries and who decided to cut the salaries? The school? The district? The state? What you can do depends on if there is a union and if this decision was supported by the union. If you know teachers you can talk to, they may be able to suggest what might help. Often there is little a parent can do, but just a show of support for them will help how they feel.

You will have to petition with school district. As a parent you have every right to expect the best education for your child. Therefore, you can start a petition with fellow parents signing on for support, ask the teacher what effects this will have on the school. Then decide just how much you will want to pursue this venture.

You could start a petition going around and get it signed by parents, stating that these hard working professionals deserve good pay. Often, teachers feel like they may not do things about this because they could risk losing their jobs. I'm sure they would greatly appreciate the help.

Get active in the PTA/PTO and speak in front of the local board of education and/or the city council.

Complain, complain, complain to anyone and everyone who will listen. The more vocal you are, the more they listen. The more of an annoyance you make out of yourself, the more they realize you're serious. Thanks for caring.
