Why the heck are you asking this question?
Why would you talk to her about it?
How would you like it if your mom came in and said, "Son, I heard you masturbating the other day because I heard you moaning. Do you know why you are touching yourself? Do you know what you are doing?"
Geez!
Or if your daughter heard you and her mom going at it and at dinner she asked you, "Mom, Dad. I heard you having sex the other day. You were moaning and yelling really loudly. Mom, next time could you be more quiet while you're cursing? I still can't believe you said the f word! You don't even say darn! And Dad, I find it degrading when you call her a female dog. Do you know why you are doing it? Do you understand that sex is natural? I just wanted to let you know that it is healthy."
Yeah - point given.

Ignore it; what she's doing is perfectly natural. Saying something to her will only make things worse, you'll embarrass her. And for the person who said it's a sin: she could be having sex, would you rather have that? Masturbation is not wrong, nor is it dirty, and whoever made it a sin (which was not God, by the way) is an idiot. Stop being such a prude.

Maybe she was just having a bad dream, and moaning in her sleep? Pretend thats what it was.
And if you can't. Leave her alone, don't talk about it. Its a natural thing and it will freak her out if you talk about it.
I mean, just imagine *that* conversation and how it would begin. 'Hunny, I heard you masturbating--" Don't go there, get some ear plugs and back off.
And to the person who said it was a sin. *grits teeth, but forces herself to be nice.* Don't judge people for that they do, or believe in, it isn't cool. And its not like everytime you touch yourself, god kills a kitten.

This is sign for you that your daughter is maturing. If you haven't had the "sex" talk, this is a good time to do so. She will understand a lot better the whole concept behind sexual activity. Try not to walk in on her, it creates a awkward aura for sometime between the child and parent. Masturbation is a great way to relief oneself of sexual anxiety. But like I said, if you haven't had the talk, now is a good time.
*Practice safe lunch, use condiments.

Ignore it. You will only make it akward being around your daughter if you bring it up. If you have already had a discussion with her about sex and masteurbation, then there is nothing odd about it. If you haven't, I suggest that you do speak with her about it, but do it subtly. Talk with her while yall are in the car, or watching tv and sex comes up on the television or radio. Good Luck!!

How old is your daughter first of all???? If shes like 9, then I think it's a problem. If shes 15 or 16 leave her alone, she's not killing anyone in her bedroom and it's probably better than her masturbating on a boy's rod, ya think??? I'm sure you go in your room and spank the monkey also...

I think it's great that she's coming into her own!! Congratualtions!! You do need to talk to her about how to keep herself in check, though. My mom was really positive about my sexuality, which was great, but didn't really discuss the finer point of "holding back" which ended up not so good. Make sure she knows it's great to feel fulfilled, but that sort of feeling should be shared with someone who is going to respect her and make her feel good in more than just one way.

How do you know what she was doing?? She might have been moaning from menstrual cramps, an upset stomach or a twisted ankle. I am a mother...and I say mind your own business.

I also have children and I have not had to deal with it. It is natural and I don't think you should say anything. I think it would embarrass her even though it is natural. Obviously she knows what she needs to and if she needs to know more then I am sure she will probably ask you.

Just ignore it. Masturbating is a completely normal and healthy thing for her and everybody else to do. If you say something, you"ll embarrass her.
