Can Bush control the weather?

2006-06-07 14:23:41 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 0 0

Just asking this question does not make sense. President Bush does not have the power to stop a Hurricane. Who does?
The problem was in the aftermath of the Hurricane, no programs were prepared for the extreme damaged caused, etc. money has been wasted and the victims of Katrina have not been helped to get their lives back. Yes...Bush is now responsible for restructuring FEMA and all disaster preparedness programs in the USA.

President Bush was not to blame for Hurricane Katrina.
The aftermath is another story and the blame rests on several shoulders...Gov. Blanco, Mayor Nagin, Fema and Bush and bureaucratic red tape. It was a tragedy and miscommunication as well as too many cooks in the kitchen.
I hope everyone learns from the mistakes made here.

Yes, he used a weather remote and caused a hurricane. Of course he isn't. the people to blame are the ones in Louisiana. Maybe democrats should stop blaming things on people who have no control over the matter.

" He can't be blamed for the Hurricane but He spends more time and money in Iraq then he spends protecting and helping his own countrymen"

what do you think he's doing in Iraq, the war's not for sh#Ts and giggles you know.

Now you know he is not to blame for a act of nature. But on the other hand, he appointed, Michael Brown to Fina. Well Michael Brown did not know squat about Disasters. Bush has a very weak staff. He appoints idiot's all the way down the line. Because he's a idiot. Can't wait till his last term is over. He's had one mistake, and lie after the other. But you know he did not cause the hurricane.

A warm climate caused hurricane Katrina. If the levees had been ten times stronger than they were, there would still have been a terrible disaster. Bush and his staff handled the rescue efforts very poorly, however.

So, this is the gathering site for all Bush-haters & bittered-liberals alike.
Ever since he won the presidential election in 2004 over Al Gore, he's to blame for practically everything, even for a natural disaster, as if he's had it all planned out. What's next ? He'll be responsible for your run of diarrhoea, too ?
This question is just that typical of a liberal mind - just not worth the energy to form a thought to answer it any further.

Well, why I think dubya is a the biggest a$$ in the world, He can't be blamed for the Hurricane but He spends more time and money in Iraq then he spends protecting and helping his own countrymen and he knew the results would be devestating but Iraqi freedom is more important than the people of New Orleans to him!!

I'm not sure that any human can control the weather, but if you meant "Is Bush responsible for the slow/poor response to victims and clean up" then ultimately, yes, because it affected a few different states, so the President is the highest ranking official of the disaster.

Sure, he caused it. He waved his wrinkled little hands and caused a storm.

NO, your moron! I don't like Bush, I think he is stupid and a puppet for his good old boy network, but he was not at fault for the disaster in New Orleans. Have you ever been there? Outside of the French Quarter and some beautiful old buildings and houses, New Orleans is a stinking cesspool!! Most of the people in the outlieing communities have been living off the goverment most if not all their lives. They knew the storm was coming, they chose not to leave. It is the story of the ants and the grasshoppers. North Carolina had a bad storm this year, but most people don't know about it because people there took care of their own. People in New Orleans expected everyone to come save them because they were lazy and unprepared. Don't you dare call me a racistist! It is not about that. The local goverment KNEW those walls were bad. They were more concerned about tourism than they were about their own people. They didn't take care of their own. People stayed behind to protect their goods because about 25% of the population make their money by taking from others. Rich and poor good people stayed behind to protect. If the local goverment had better plans in place for evacuation in such a situation and protection of assests left behind, there wouldn't have been the problem. FEMA should have stayed out of it. Talk about a buch of people having NO idea of what they are doing. It is NOT the job of the goverment to take care of people who are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves and each other. Personally, I am tired of the goverment handing out money to every person who sticks out a lazy hand. That is MY hard earned money. It is time for people to start working together.

He didn't cause all the problems after hurricane katrina. The mayor down there has admitted that he didn't handle things properly either.
