My husband and I tried for 6 months before I got pregnant. I tried everything from putting my legs up after sex to ovulation kits. None of that worked for me. I believe that we were trying too hard. After 5 months, we gave up trying. I didn't purchase another ovulation kit, didn't have any more pregnancy tests at home, and quit worrying about what position we were doing it in and how long I waited to get up afterwards. We had not done it for like 2 weeks, and it was our one year anniversary and went out of town and rented a motel with a hot tub in the room, and I got pregnant in the hot tub!! I wasn't even trying anymore, we were just having a good time and enjoying ourselves. So, my advice would be, quit trying and it will happen!

Actually not lots of sex. That has actually proven to decrease chances due to lower sperm count and the fact that the sperm "fight" per say to get to the egg first. The key is to sex it up when you are ovulating.... I know I know wipe the tear from his eye, but that is the best time. You generally ovulate approx. 14 days before your next period. 4-5 days before that you should start having sex about every other day. The sperm can generally stay alive this long so they may be able to meet the egg there. Then continue for a total of about 10 days having sex every other day. This will increase your chances. Don't waste your time with attempting different postitions to get deeper and such because his penis is not going past your cervix anyway. No matter how far he goes is his little guys still have to swim. If he get a half a centimeter farther that will do nothing for them at all. But of course you can work on positioning to make life more exciting!

Get a ovulation kit from the store. You really don't need one that is very fancy and can usually get a good one for about $10. If you are having regular cycles and think you know when you ovulate, the ovulation kit tells you when you are "surging" or in other words, your body is getting ready to release an egg. These are the days for the "lots and lots of sex" to increase your chances of conception. You will usually get 7 sticks in a pack and will put them in the first urine of the day which carries the most detectible hormones. Good Luck!

The only things I can say are don't go into it saying Im gonna get pregnant...cause it seems its when your trying and really want a baby that you don't get pregnant and when you give up and stop trying that it happens. Don't have "alot of sex" try to keep it to the week that your ovulating. Don't get up right away after sex try to lay still with a pillow under your pelvis. I dont know if that really works but it did for me. Tell your partner/ hubby to try to wait to ejaculate until he is all the way in so that he's closer to your cervix. If you really want it go to WalMart and get an ovulation predictor start charting and the days your ovulating go for it and have fun. It took me 2 months to get pregnant this way. And now im due in October. Good Luck and relax

well there are ovualtion kits you can try im doing them now and they are great !!! you buy them at the drug store or any shop that sells pregnancy stuff... you buy an ovulation kit for 5 days it comes with 5 peeing cups and 5 tests you do one test a day for 5 days at the same time every day.... it sort of looks like a pregnancy test but for ovualtion.... it comes up positive when you are at your highest and that means you are going to ovulate in 24 - 36 hours so you have sex on the day you get a positive and the day after....its worked for alot of women thats just an easier thing to try so that when you know you are most fertile you can plan a romantic evening and just enjoy the night instead of worrying the WHOLE month about making sure that you and your husband had sex on certain days so goodluck and for the future CONGRATS

Before one actually tries to conceive, it seems like it will happen immediately! Truth be told, many women take up to a whole year to conceive. After that year, doctors may intervene with medical help.
Perhaps a good place to start is to determine if you are ovulating. Most women ovulate 14 days after the first day of their last period. You can do ovulation tests around that time to determine when you are ovulating. If you do not get a positive result, a doctor may help you to ovulate by starting you on a medicine called clomid.
Some women slightly elevate their hips for 20 minutes after intercourse, to ensure that more of the sperm comes in contact with the cervix. 20 minutes is an adequate amount of time, because after that time, any sperm that did not enter, will be killed by the differing pH of the vagina. Some women however, choose to use 'instead' cups, which are more commonly used for one's period.
There is also something called 'Fertility Tea', or a similar name. Apparently, it will help you to conceive.
Some women have also tried half a tablespoon of cough syrup for a few days before ovulation, claiming that it helps to thin out the lining of the uterus, hence making it easier for the baby to implant itself into the uterine wall. I'm not sure if it's safe to try, or even if it works - but it's just another tidbit of information for you!
For the average couple, having sex once per day provides the best chance of getting pregnant.
The woman-on-top position isn't great for pregnancy, since ejaculate may flow out.
FACTS:
Most women have a 15 to 25 percent chance of getting pregnant during their cycle.
Nearly 50 percent of couples conceive during the first 3 months.
About 75 percent of couples conceive during the first 6 months.
Up to 90 percent of couples conceive during the first year.
On the average, there are 280 days from the first day of your last period to your due date
Ovulation information:
Many women who have an irregular period aren't ovulating. There are a number of ways that you can determine if you are ovulating or not.
The first and easiest way is to get a blood test from your doctor.
You can also buy an at home ovulation predictor kit, although these aren't always 100% accurate.
You can also chart your body basal temperature. On the day of ovulation, and every day after that until the beginning of your next cycle, your temperature is one degree higher than normal. It is recommended that you take your temperature before you get out of bed in the morning, and at the same time as movement affects the reading.
You can also examine the position of your cervix. When you are ovulating, your cervix is low and soft like the inside of your cheek. At all other times, your cervix is high and hard like the tip of your nose.
When you are ovulating, you may feel slight twinges around your ovaries
When you are ovulating, you may notice a difference in your cervical mucus. It should be clear and sticky, and you may be able to spread as much as 5cm string between your thumb and your forefinger. Gross, I know! It needs to be sticky to draw the sperm.
I'm going to include the link to a trying to conceive forum that I think you might find useful. It's full of supportive women with boundless knowledge about these issues. I learnt so much there that I doubt I would have learnt otherwise.

Try this
www.babyzone.com
or
www.mymonthlycycles.com
Also have sex missionary style with a pillow under your hips and stay that way for like 20 min afterward. Your most fertile times are 11-15 days after your period starts. Good luck!

To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released.
After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex.
After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.
Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 5 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

Go to Babyzone.com and register (for free!) and in your profile put "trying to conceive." It will ask you when your last cycle was and how many days are in your cycle, and then it tells you when to have sex! It pinpoints your most fertile days. Its worked twice for me and I recommend this site to anyone. Not to mention it counts down the days of your pregnancies, offers tons of tips on your pregnancy calendar, shows the progress of your baby, and after the baby is born, it changes to a parenting calendar with tons of tips. I love it!

Sure, try to have unprotected sex :))
Sorry... but I would try to have lots of sex on the 13-17th day after period starts. Make sure that you urinate within 2 min. after having sex. (Bladder Infections) Try to eat a lot of folic acid.
