that can't be more than a PII processor. I wouldn't put XP on that. Even if you do manage to get it on (which I doubt you will) your notebook won't have the processing power to run XP satisfactorily - it will be sluggish and barely capable of running two apps at a time.

Bad idea all around if you ask me. I know this from experience. Me ma let some clown do something similar and it took me three days to get it off and reinstall her PII 233mhz notebook with Win98.

I am surprised you can even run a Windows ME on that laptop. I can't even get my Pentium II with 266mHz to run a Windows 2000 properly. I'd say either keep it at Windows ME (if you don't mind the lagg) or downgrade to Windows 98. In fact, Windows 98 is still the most stable version of Windows out there and does not need so many patches for privacy/virus protection. I definitely do not recommend a Windows XP as it requires a Pentium III or later and I doubt a 200mHz processor and 128MB RAM is going to be sufficient. Having a large hard drive space won't really help you much, it might just increase the virtual memory a bit.

Bottom line: Stay with Windows ME or go back to Windows 98.
