My husband will be home in late September from spending a year in Iraq. I would like to take him somewhere nice, yet not that expensive and also where our 20 mo old son won't be too much of a bother. (he is attached to my hip and once daddy comes in I dont think he can handle daddy leaving again) So like maybe a good place to go for a weekend. Maybe a cabin or something like that.

Where do you live? I reccomend renting a camper and going to a local campground. There are a lot of activities for kids and other kids there as well. Campgrounds are very romantic and very nature like. I like Rutland, Vermont and Savannah, GA.

Don't know where your located but, in Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin there are tons of cabin resorts around the lakes as well as Wis Dells water park resort. Lake Superior has some very romantic areas but I think you could have plenty fun with your son as well. Check out Ely Mn and the Boundary Water Areas. This is my hubby and mines favorite place to get away. We take our two dogs and go cannoeing. Its beautiful!

you can go rent a condo in Florida, yet not to expensive and your 20 year old son will hang at the beach or the pool. or you can go to universal studios Orlando, always a good place thrill seekers and rent like a Beat Western or a cheap hotel like that. or Gatlinburg, Tenn. it has that "cabin" feeling

Not sure from you question what part of the country you're located in but Gatlinburg Tennessee is great for a get-away.
Lots of mountain cabins to choose from and then plenty in town when you want to go out.

Try Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. They have many kid friendly resorts and it's really not that expensive, especially after September when the main vacation season is over. It's also beautiful, warm and very romantic;)

I recently took a cruise to the Western Carribbean and found a great deal on the following website. There were also places of interest and information about various vacation destinations, so this might help you out as well.
