The phoenix is a mythological bird that represents the circle of life, eternity, death and rebirth. They are firey and beautiful. The myths say that They live for thousands of years and then are consumed by flames only to rise from the ashes again.

Origionally, the Phoenix was an Arabian bird, which looked much like a pheasant and ate ony seeds and fruit. It was said to build a nest of Myrrh or sage and once every thousand years it would burn itself in the nest and rebirth itself from the ashes.

They werent; origionally pretty but rather drab. And they weren't ferocious or predatory.
