I believe that if people love each other that they should have the right to get married if they wish. No matter if they are gay or not. The divorce rate is at 50%, and people still get married; and the top reason that people divorce is b/c of $. It's not b/c they of same sex. The world is not going to implode on it's self if gay people get married; they are Americans and they should have the same rights as everyone else.

The ADMINISTRATION (not government) is trying to divert attention away from its miserable record in all areas. This is nothing but a ploy on Bush's part...another ploy, that is....and you are right...why does anyone care what gay's do when it comes to something so personal as marriage.

LOL...LadyHewitt!!

It's the whole church and state and politicians slobbering, greedy, terminator-like desire for votes.

The Lord says that same-sex relationships are a sin....period. People whom are true Christians believe this, and those people vote too...a LOT of them vote. So every government level; federal, state and local, walk the rope and to the dosey-do around this topic because their shallow, transparent desire to please everyone only rewards us all with watered-down BS that usually winds up to be lies, smoke-and-mirrors anyway.

Besides, while these morons debate whether Jack can smooch Johnny, or Carmen can carpet-munch Jennifer.......Iran is playing with Uranium, and holding the oily carrot in front of the US. And our blithering idiot president is actually bargaining with these idiots when we should be telling them that we could just as well come and take their freakin' oil and stop sending monies and food their way to boot.

The government isn't afraid....they are all just operating with 2 cc brains and greedy fake hearts my friend.

People divorce over petty, ridiculous things. There are no values, ethics or consideration for others anymore. Everyone wants to be a greedy ba$tard and screw someone out of something. No wonder people get divorced. If it's not about money, it's about some other underhanded BS that's going on.

I do not think that they are afraid of it. What I think is that they do not like change. I personally believe that enyone who falls in love and wants to get married should have that chance regardless if they are guy-girl; girl-girl; or even guy-guy. I could get up on my soap box and go on and on about his topic because I am very passionate about it but I will not. I believe that people need to stop being so darn closed minded and realize that the world is no longer only christian. There are ALOT of ofhter religions out there and should not try to combine church and state. OK I am done for now.

I am in complete agreement with you! It shouldn't matter what the sex is of two people. If they are in love and want to marry, let them! It's the religous right that believe if you are different from anything they believe then you must be bad or doing something wrong! Some of these people will always be sheep and follow the flock. We need some people with power to stand up to these shallow minded idiots and let any two people who want to marry get married!
Thank you for asking this and letting me get up on the soap box with you so to speak!

the govern't must have paid for your schooling unfortunatelly, which is why you're so brainwashed and can't spell. If you read the Bible, guess what, you could spell properly AND you would not ask such provocative questions.
Man didn't invent marriage, it was God's idea, and He defined it between a man and a woman. There is already another institution for men who want to screw each other, so let us leave marriage alone.

I dont know if they are afraid of it .. They just feel it is morally wrong and not natural that is all. God intended and made Adam and Eve to be his helpmate not Adam and Steve to be his help mate. Even though it is the gays choice to do this and there is not one sin worse then any other i can see both sides here. Yes they should have rights but we should to and to our feelings as well.
