based on issues or facts? I am neither republican or democrat. I lean a bit right. I agree more with republicans on economics and foriegn policy. I agree more with democrats on social issues like abortion and religion in government. But I like to think I see through the highly partisan motives of BOTH parties, and have a good understanding of most of what goes on in government (like influence peddling and the agenda of furthering one's political party). I think Bush is a good man, a moderate conservative and is doing what he thinks is right and in our people's best interest. His mistake in Iraq, I think, was underestimating the American people and oversimplifying the rasons to invade. I think Clinton was a brilliant man, a moderate Democrat and will go down as one of the best Democrat presidents of the modern era. He was not soft on defense or devisive. He was not the usual "tax and spend" democrat. What are your thoughts?

It's certainly easy to believe that people don't know how (or want to truly debate) when you read the Yahoo discussions and watch a lot of the media. Frankly, I think many people are intellectually lazy. They don't want to take the time to provide defendable reasons why they believe a certain way, so they resort to vitriole and name-calling.

I too believe that Bush is a good man and was right about Iraq, but he is a horrible communicator. That was Clinton's strong-point. Right or wrong, he knew how to get the American people to buy whatever he was selling.

yeah... there isn't a lot of debate on here... many of the issues are difficult to debate because no one really knows... like Bin Laden... there are basically no facts on what he's doing now, so it's all conjecture...

There are also a lot of "false facts" on here on both sides... I don't believe any fact that isn't cited personally... and there aren't many cites... and I probably don't cite stuff as much as I should either, but I do much more so than the majority on here...

Everyone wants to polarize everything... one party is good, the other is bad... it's frustrating...

Democrats don't like to debate, except Biden.
