What is your favorite breed of horse for each of the disciplines that you ride and why?

Mine personally, is the Quarter Horse. I go for the short, stocky types! They have a good head on their shoulders, and most are easy keepers. I have one (yeaaa Kid!) and he is the love of my life! I love and respect many other breeds, but the QH will always be my first love...

My favorite breed is the quarter horse, because they are so versatile. Quarter horses can show all around, in the hunter ring, in rodeos, and can pretty much do everything that is asked of them.

The quarter horse. I recently just had to put one down that was 27 years old. I purchased her when she was 12. My 3 children at the time were 4,7,and 8 and they used her for everything: Dressage, Jumping, Eventing, Pony Club,Relay races, costume classes, even Family Class at a very well know Show. She could adjust to any rider, from 1year old to myself (a handicapped person in a wheelchair).Good Luck!

The quarter horse. They are a very good breed. I have three in which I use in The rodeo circuit for Barrel racing. They ate quick to the turn, quick to the gate and have a way about them. they are great animals

personally, egyptian arabians. they can get a bit nippy & head strong at times, but other than that, they're so beautiful and I luv their "i'm on top of the world, why aren't you serving me" attitude that they have. I've ridden my neighbor's arab in an endurance competition once... i was sore all over the next day but she seemed like she could go on for another 100 miles. lol. another one of my favorites is the thoroughbred. I'm addicted to horse racing. the whole concept of a 100 lb man hanging by a pair of slim irons on a 1,200 beast going some 35 miles per hour never fails to amaze me. truely is the sport of kings & the best 2 minutes in sports. gotta luv it. :)

I love palominos. They have a wonderfully smooth gait and usually beautiful conformation. I've had several opportunities to ride them and they're great. I ride infrequently usually Tennessee walking horses or quarter horses and while I love both the palominos stole my heart. :P

I have no favorite, nor, do I ever want to ride again!!

I rode horses at Faith Ranch in Jewett Ohio, and, now, I wonder how those "cowboys" rode those things!!

Saddle ridding is not good for me, as it was a painful experience... Bobbing up and down, on that thing, banging this and that...

NOOOO SIRREEEE BUB!!

I will look at them, and appreciate thier beauty from afar, but, no riding for me any more :)

I wish you well

my favorites are the tennessee walkers and quarter horses they can be the calmest horses out there and also the most fun I just bought a black tennessee walker. so I guess I'm with you on the quarter horse.
