To elaborate, I am saying that countries with higher income inequality (which is the difference between the poorest and the richest) have worse health than countries where everyone is on a relative even playing field economically. What do you beleive these reasons to be?

I'm not sure I agree with your claim. Give some examples of the countries you mean for both or your illustrations.

Probably because social economics in income equal countries seem to put a big emphasis on health care and therefor...

the rich pay for the health of the poor...

in the unequal income countries (which USA is becoming one of them more and more...), people look out for number one and therefor everyone suffers when someone becomes sick... and if your sick, you can't work, so therefor, you join the ranks of the street urchant...
