Yes. They are paying you to work, not be on the internet.

YES....

I worked with a few girls once in an office who sat around and played games on the internet all day (with the sound up if the boss was not around). This irritated me to no end because the office we were all in together was huge with a high ceiling and every "you win" or "you loose" buzzer echoed. Also the girls would "play busy" when the boss was around, this only added to my irritation

However, I do enjoy logging in to my yahoo account while at work and checking a couple of emails etc...I am careful not to take advantage of my employer and only spend a few minutes a day on items that do not benefit the company directly. But I enjoy it non-the-less and it acts as a "breather" for me during the 8-9 hours I am there.

Unfortunately employers today can not depend on the integrity of the workers, so yes, I see nothing wrong with internet monitoring.

After all, it is their money being wasted. Unfortunately, those of us who are conscientious about our internet activity loose out because of a few "slackers" who don't give a d*mn and simply want to breeze through the day.

If your at work, yes!! They are paying you to do a job not play around on the internet. Alot of companies I have worked for were really strict about this. The company I work for now is pretty lax about!!

Yes. The employees are using company property, they are supposed to be working; they should expect to be monitored.

Yes, at work they should be able to. And only email that is given out by them. They should not be able to monitor your yahoo email or any of that sort. If you are working for the government, I would say that they definetly should.. less chance of someone messing around with their computers!

No-i do not think so-,i mean that is ur personal info, they should mind their own business. It all depends on the situation, too,if they are suspicious about an employee, then it can be different,it is basically how u look at it in different angles.

There is no democracy in a private company. Think of them as communists. This might help you to appreciate what you have outside the workplace.
