Uruguay won the first ever World Cup that consisted of mainly South American teams as it probably took a couple of weeks to get there from Europe!!! After being behind 1-2 at the end of the first half(end of the first period for you Americans and this is soccer, not football!!!), Uruguay won the 1st World Cup 4-2.
