Every time someone here posts a thread about NASCAR drivers, I see a lot of hate directed at either Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, or Jeff Gordon...what have they done that's so awful? There are truly Godawful drivers in Nextel Cup who do worse things than those drivers I mentioned...why all the hate?

To the last person who answered this question...Hey, I have a First Amendment right to free speech...if you don't like NASCAR, just don't post to NASCAR-related threads. And no one is forcing you to watch Nextel Cup! You can take it or leave it, to each his/her own.

rivalries..it's what helps the sport breed. everyone has their own reason for not liking a certain driver, and it's directed at those 3 and you are going to start seeing a lot of 48 haters too..why?? well b/c they are some of the most commercialized drivers out there. for some reason everyone has put jr and gordon as rivalries even though they have never had a run-in..jr has stepped in to the sport, in that sense, where his dad left off. they are two different types of drivers. the earnhardts are a little more agressive and jeff is a little more relaxed and laid back type..
as for tony, well he's had his temper issues that people don't like..but in the end everyone has to have a driver to hate..

Well,Tony Stewart because he gets in alot of fights. Jeff Gordon for winning 4 championships and Dale Jr. 1)He's too popular and 2) He's the son of Dale Sr.

Because that's what makes the sport so great is the rivalries. If everybody liked everyone then the sport wouldn't be successful. Like most people it all starts with what they drive (Ford, Chevy,dodge) People love their rides and will defend anyone that drives the same make that they have. Then some go by sponsors and will trash anything that goes against what they buy. It gives fans a way to show support for their products that they buy but it really is all for fun. Look at how many people trash talked Dale Sr. but when he died all REAL fans were crushed that day and were Shocked by the news. Again its all for the love of the sport.

people are competitive when they have a driver they stand by as a fan...
ex: my father in law huge fan of Earnhardt Jr.
constantly putting down Jeff Gordon the rainbow driver
see i prefer tony Stewart, but I'm not hardcore into nascar..like many others...just do a lil betting with my father in law and husband and we watch the game and have nascar parties
our boys love watching the races...they have there own lil seats too for there fave cars

I don't know about the other two, but Tony Stewart has proven time and time again that he is an a$$hole. I'm not even a nascar fan and I figured that one out. I don't have a favorite driver, but it's definitely not him.

They are all talented drivers, rich, successfull. Same as why people don't like the NY Yankees.
Oh yeah. Once in awhile Tony Stewart sort of wrecks another driver into the wall. Heck, that's olnly collaterall damage.

Well, I can see why people dislike Jeff Gordon, but don't be putting down on JR! Tony is not doing so hot right now but, IT WON'T BE LONG!

People might be sick of the commercialism. Dale Ernhardt and Jeff Gordon are in a LOT of commercials.

jeff gordon is a cry baby, dale jr is just not as good as his dad was, but tony is the best driver of them all, he just needs to find a better car to drive (ford)
