It's called attenuation. You are disrupting the signal. Everyone has differing electrical properties this is why you can attenuate a radio signal but others can't. Jules, lecturer. Australia.

It has to do with signal strength.Your hand acts as a antenna, and apparently where you are, it is needed. A better quality radio might help.

We have different electrical charges to our bodies so react differently. Can also be what you're wearing like nylon or other conductors of static electricity.
