It's pretty offensive for another person to tell you that you can or cannot do something based simply on the way you were born and an outdated clause in the law.

1. Homosexual people CAN get married. It is recognized by ONE state in the United States.
2. Even if most of the states and the federal government NEVER recognizes gay marriage, it won't stop the marriages from happening.
3. At least three christian denominations and a number of non-christian faiths perform gay marriages.
Gay people can get married already. What gay people want is the rights, privileges, and securities that straight people get by registering their marriage with the state. Gay people don't need you to approve of it, sponsor it, agree with it, or to care about it one way or another.
It doesn't offend me if you don't think gay people should get married. I am puzzled. Why would matter to you in the least what gay people do?

because it's offensive to be told that you have no right to do something that should be a right of every human being.
History is repeating itself, this has happened many times in the past. We will overcome it.
Noone has the right to infringe on another persons happiness. How would you feel if suddenly the world decided that you could not marry someone you love. Just stop for a second and put yourself in another persons shoes. At one point interacial couples could not marry....what if you truly loved someone of a different color and everyone said you were immoral and disgusting and to stick to your own race. What if you could not marry them? What if, heaven forbid, something happened to you and the last prson you wanted holding your hand was that person, but legally they couldn't come in and see you because they weren't immediate family? What if the two of you had children, and everythign you own got divided by your family and your off-spring were denied social security and any remnants of you because your immediate family said no? Not a very pretty picture is it?

a few countries had pass the law allowing same sex marriage. It's simply a human right issues nothing else!! Many activists had fought long and hard. And many did not get married because it's now legal. It's the fact that it should not be against the law when two consenting adult wanted to have the same rights just like any other couples.

Well, for those who have some little bit of moral fiber left in their being, it's common sense that marriage is for a man and a woman, standing before God Almighty.
Also, gay people don't want to be married. Only a few do. Gays tend to be very promiscuous. They only want gay marriage to affront society, so that they can feel better about their sins. Gay marriage is a trophy for them. Consider: the gay community is willing to put the rest of us in this turmoil, just so they can feel better. And don't be fooled. Allowing gay marriage will mess up the legal system in ways that are astounding.

Why not? Black and white people used to not be allowed to get married, that wasn't fair either. (and please dont' respond and say that black and white people are born that way and gay people chose to be gay, because being gay is not a choice, that truth has already been established - catch up)
Gay people WILL be able to get married someday, as they already are in several states as well as in other countries. What's right is right and discrimination will not be tolerated much longer.
Then all the people that fought it can eat their words. Justice always prevails.

well wouldn't u b offended if someone told u that u were not allowed to marry someone u loved just because some strangers religious beliefs said it was wrong. It's not just ridiculous and vindictive, it's hurtful to b denied something so pure and wonderful like love and marriage and happiness, especially by people that claim to believe in all these things.
Why do straight people think that they r the only ones who deserve happiness and love?

it goes beyond freedoms. theirs that too, and freedopm is a big thing but that is not the end of it. People neglect the fact that married couples qualify for finincial things that gay commited couples aren't allowed to have access to. Who is the government to say who can or cannot get married based on biological things.

I believe we can get married. We're human beings - and not just human beings, but adults who have agreed they want to be married. What does it matter to you? We wouldn't stop you from getting married because that's your right.
