If I were you I would not use tampons. Tampons do break the skin and hurt especially the first time. I would use pads.

Periods aren't that bad....I imagine you just got yours!!! Don't worry, at first it seems really scary...but it's not!!! And don't be afraid to ask any woman for help--cuz every girl gets them
Here's ho to put a tampon in: 1. Relax! Try not to worry about inserting the tampon right the first time. If you are tense it will make insertion harder.
2. The best time to practice inserting a tampon is during the heavy part of your period. The tampon should glide inside your vagina easily without any discomfort.
3. Decide if you prefer to insert the tampon standing or sitting. If sitting is your preference, sit on the toilet. If you want to try standing, putting one foot on the bathtub helps.
4. Hold the tampon applicator in your right hand if you are right-handed, or left if left-handed.
5. Use your thumb and middle finger to hold the bottom of the larger, outer tube.

6. Point the tip of the applicator toward your vagina, facing slightly towards the back. The smaller tube should be pointed away from your body.
7. Use your other hand to open your vagina.
8. Place the tip of the applicator at the opening of your vagina.
9. Gently push the smaller end of the applicator in until it is completely inside the larger outer tube. This pushes the tampon into your vagina and out of the tube.
10. With your thumb and middle finger still on the outer tube, release the smaller tube and let the strings dangle freely.
11. Gently pull the two tubes out together.
12. Dispose of the applicator according to the manufactuer's instructions.
13. When you are ready to remove the tampon, gently pull the withdrawl strings down and forward. The used tampon may be flushed down the toilet.
Tips:
Lubricating the rounded end of the tampon with a water-based lubricant such as K-Y Jelly can make insertion easier the first few times. Don't use petroleum jelly.
Always read the manufactuer's instructions throughly before using any type of tampon.
If the tampon feels uncomfortable it is probably not inserted far enough into your vagina. Try again with a new tampon.

Tampons cannot break the hymen. So there should be zero pain. Tampons can be uncomfortable if they are not inserted properly. Please buy some and read the paper insert, there are pictures that show how to do it right and a lot of information to help. OB tampons are the most comfortable.

It won't break your hymen. I was afraid of that, too. The best advice I can give you is to make sure it's in place correctly. If it's not inserted all the way, then it will be really uncomfortable when you go to sit down. I agree that tampax pearls are awesome! I prefer unscented but that is all on personal preferance. Remember to read the insert in the box!!

My first few times using a tampon it did hurt, but that's because I put it in crooked. It might take a few times for you to get it in just right and once you do that, tampons are good. I'd suggest Tampax Pearl, those are the most comfortable for me. As for the hymen question, I don't know.

No, it won't break the hymen. No, it won't hurt (only the cardboard ones can be a little uncomfy). If it's your first time using tampons, I suggest using a smaller one, and definitely one with a plastic applicator tip. Something like Playtex Easy Glide. Also try the Playtex Beyond, because they are totally flushable, which is cool, and much, much more pleasant.

it will hurt if you put it in wrong, but it will feel a little uncomfortable when you insert it the 1st couple of times, its way more comfortable when ur swimming and walking than a pad
it wont break, believe me, and it wont get stuck, etc
go to this website and search for using a tampon, they'll tell you everthing you need to know and if you have future questions, go to the Ask Iris section:

it might hurt and a lot of things can break your hymen. Riding a bike, a horse or just being active can break it so don't worry, the tampon can and at the same time, it might not.
