Are you serious? I haven't read the book or seen the movie, but the Mona Lisa was painted by Leonardo da Vinci, who is the "da Vinci" in the title. I think the basic idea of the book is that there's some big conspiracy and Leonardo da Vinci and I think some other people knew about it or something and he hide codes around in his work and stuff, and then I think some people later are trying to figure it out or something. I'm not sure about the plot of the book, or if I have that right, the the main connection is the obvious painter thing.

there is another painting under the Mona Lisa. this was common for artists to do because of the price of canvas. it is thought there is a more valuable painting with a message perhaps on it. but no one will grant permission to ruin the Mona Lisa to find out. it is not noticeable with x-ray
