It's hard for most people to deal with conflict, but you're right you don't have to blame yourself. You can have self esteem and confidence to know you're right abt things sometimes, and even if you're not you're still allowed to express your opinion. You don't need to "people please" and try to make everyone always be happy with you. The fact is, the people who go ahead and say what they want to still have lots of friends. People don't usually stop being friends just because you had an argument.

it seems as if you may have some self-esteem issues. Try thinking that you can have your own opinion and that you aren't wrong all the time. I you shouldn't put blame on anyone the conflict could have been a result of something you both did so don't take it upon yourself to take all of the responsibility for the conflict.

I used to have this same problem. I was told some of it stemmed from being told as a child i could not get angry, or argue, and if i did i was punished. I have learned to decide if i want to take on an issue or not. I DECIDE! If i think that the conflict is worth the trouble i will engage. when i do i try to be logical about it. if i lose my temper i apoligize for for losing my temper. if the other person will not get over it this is that persons problem. we cannot always get along perfectly with everyone. also we must say to ourselves "i forgive myself"
