first of all... learn spellings.. it's "destroy"! not "distroy"... ok...
ppl destroy public artwork or any public property for the following reasons....
1. To get noticed.
2. they are brought up in destructive households
3. just for fun!
they gotta have the proper education to avoid this problem.

It's like killing other men because their penises are bigger. I'm not kidding. People destroy artwork, public phones etc because they cannot create them. They are impotent from this point of view and, instinctively, they destroy other people's creation. By doing this, they "eliminate" the competition because they know that a female would chose someone with better genes than they have. What they think they are doing is destroying the evidence that there are people with better genes than theirs out there.

That's a hard question to answer because there is no logical reason why anyone would want to destroy public art. Stupidity and thoughtlessness are two possible responses, but wanton destruction goes even deeper than that.
