No. We in the western hemisphere, I think, have been done a real disservice by not being exposed to people like Bach. Often lumped into the category of 'classical' - it really isn't. It's baroque. Too, it isn't played too often, and, for too long, what you hear are variations, adaptations, and pretty bad renderings generally. Fortunately, there are people like Trevor Pinnock ( Concertos for Cembali and strings ) who read the manuscript intent without projecting a personal agenda. All music has it's listeners, of course, but it's usually a developing process where you recognize it's quite close to your soul. Then you seek something more complete in it. Too much is exclusively visceral. That's my take on it, though. Other people might not feel the same way.

I prefer country - it's definitely my fave.

But I like rock, too (maybe not quite so hard as Marilyn Manson).

There are two pieces of good news, though. First, we can all listen to both! Woohoo! Second, for those who don't like either, there are other options, like Hip Hop, or Jazz!

Music is a beautiful thing!!!

Neither, country music is for depressed sops who get off on idiotic lyrics about how you loved your cousin but they died, and hard rock like Marilyn Manson is for tone deaf people who couldn't care less about lyrics or being able to carry a tune.
