Though it might seem to be quite okay as of the moment "cause they are just friends", that really is not the issue here because IN THE LONG RUN, I believe that that's not ok. That is NOT HEALTHY considering the two of you are together. It will only injure or do harm in the relationship if he continues on doing that. This is my view if your boyfriends' being friends with them is only DUE to the fact you mentioned (an issue between the two of you).

Do you trust ur BF around them?
my girlfriend is not exactly socially fit for me.. but i hold her hand infront of my family, friends, other people.. because, it is her what i all see.. Does he do that?
