I get migrains a lot like twice a month and I'm fourteen. I did't relise they were migraines until I went to my doctor. She gave me Relpax and I use it everytime and it works great I would recomend going to the doctor.

Go to the doctor sweetie. You may need a shot to stop the migraine and if it is a true migraine probably something to stop the nausea to. The doctor needs to find out whats causing migraines in someone so young and give you meds to prevent them. In the mean time try some cold packs one on your forehead, one on the back of your neck and one on your liver...(just below your ribs on the right)

Welcome to the very large family of migraine sufferers.

My wife says excedrin migraine works good but in your case you need to talk to the Doc. They can give you some prescription stuff that will fix ya up and or figure out what might be causing it.

Sux to be 13 and have them migraine headaches. I didn't start with em until I was about 26

Migraines run in my family for the females and start at about the time menses starts and can be worsened by the onset every month. Excederine migraine worked well for us if we catch it early enough at onset. I now have a prescription for Relpax wich is wonderful. Very expensive but generic doesn't work for me. But they do have generic. Sometimes they get so bad I have to get shots. You really need to se a doctor.

Definately see your doctor about this one. Being only 13, you want to make sure that your migraines aren't being caused by something else. The doctor recommend things to do or take without doping yourself up on a whole bunch of different things.

Yeah, I would go to the doctor. I wouldn't trust everything you get off here. Have your parent make an appointment and let the doctor know and he can give you advice. I'm sorry this doesn't help you at the moment. I hope you feel better.

Darlin',
If you are 13 you should be living with an adult that can take you to a doctor! If not, go to the nearest emergency clinic and tell them what is going on. They will be able to help you. If you are in a neighborhood that has mean people at the clinics, go to a Fire Station and tell them you need HELP! They have Paramedics that can tell you where to go!

I added a site you can read from the Cleveland clinic for home treatments for migraines.

What I suggest is that you go and talk to your parents about your headaches and ask them to take you to a doctor.

as mentioned, go to the doctor
frequent migraines can be a sign of a more serious problem
and even if not anything serious, they can be a real headache!
your family doctor can give you advice on which pills you should take
i've always taken advil migraine gel pills, but your doctor is still the best source of information

no don't go to a doctor, they will give you medicine to "help" you with your migraines but the medicine does more harm then help.....find a chiropractor who uses the activator method and does hyperbaeric treatments. Both will help enourmously!!!

doctors and pharmecuetical companies aren't in that businees for people's health, they are in it for the money!!!!there is already a cure for cancer, but it is extremely cheap and the doctors won't make money from it, so they shun it and say that it is bad for you!!!they won't even study into it, they look at it, see that they will lose money, then shun it!!
