Why do people answer with "not me"?

I am from UK, England to be more precise.

That comment about Scotland being superior would prove that you are in fact inferior. The question didn't say anything about England or Scotland being the same country, did it? I guess the asker knows that the UK is made up of 4 seperate countries.
