Many 'work from home while raking the $$$ ' schemes are scams, but there are legal jobs amongst those as well.
Without specific knowledge of what industry you'd be interested in it isn't easy to be of more help. However, for computer programming type jobs one such legitmate site happens to be http://rentacoder.com/RentACoder/default.asp

it depends what kind of jobs you are looking for. If you are looking for computer related freelance jobs, like programming and design, try getafreelancer.com and/or guru.com
If you are looking for an onsite job try monster.com, though I haven't used it, the first two I recommend.
