About 15 seconds! Then all the s.o.b's who slated Ken Bates when he was in charge will be begging him to come back and rescue us.
Problem is, knowing what a maverick Bates is, he will just wander off to his farm, count his fortune and pee himself laughing! Bates got us out of the red and back to being a successful club...plus he loves the game. Abramovich seems to think that owning Chelsea IS a game. So far he has just built on Bates success by throwing money at the club. I think thats great cos we are winning but when we stop doing so we are in mighty big trouble!

There business Profits last year where -256 Million Pounds. A club can't survive like that but Abromovich seems signed on for a couple more years, but without his cash the wages of the big players will become too much of a burden and they'll be sold off.
After about 5 years they'll be an average club dwelling on the times they were top of the league.
A club can't survive like Chelsea in the long term. You need to build on what you have, like Liverpool does, they're not a rich team yet they cultivate there own talent and bring in talent to support what they have.

no longer than a season. because chelsea is not building a team. nor do they breed players. all their players are the breed of other teams. they only get the players through money squander. and when the money stops flowing, the players will run and no new breed. Morinho shall provide a better answer.

Well, it's a London club with a good following. So it'll probably stay in the premiership regardless. But if Abromovich leaves it with a massive debt, then it might go the way of Leeds.

Remember when Blackburn bought their way to the top? once the money went, so did the players and the premiership status followed two seasons later. Leeds too
