if you are talking about total joint replacements, i don't think so. i have heard of someone having a knee or hip (which ever is worse) done first and then when they are recovered have the other done. i do know that you can have both knees done at the same time. but you should talk to you doctor or an orthopedic specialist they could give you more info.

Yes it is possible; but, the recovery would be very difficult. You can talk to your doctor about minimally invasive techniques that can get you back on your feet asap. There improvements in that area every day. I have a total knee and a total hip replacement on the same side; but I had them a more than a year apart. Recovery is difficult for each and takes alot of physical therapy work on your part. Ask your doctor and hope he keeps up with the new surgical procedures. God Bless.

Hip and Knee Surgery(all types of othopaedic surgery) is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges ortho surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for aminternational patients as obesity surgery is not covered by insurance or by the stinking NHS.
They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your knee surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star .
My cousin got her hip and knee done there and she is more than very happy with the results. She is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. She paid just 30% of the cost what she was quoted in USA and it was like a wonderful vacation for her..hope this helps

I guess you *could*, but the recovery time, and amount of physical therapy needed would be greatly increased than if you were to just have one done, or the other.
