Of course men and women communicate differently. Yes, reading men are from mars women are from venus will help to understand this, but people also need to realize that it also depends on many factors such as: upbringing/how they were taught, what society expects of them, their personalities, their personal experiences in life up to that point, etc.

Men tend to think in terms of how can I fix this problem. Women tend to think emotionally and just want to have their partner or someone else listen to them so they can talk out their problems. It's how we work out/fix our problems. Of course, this is just a generalization and may not apply to every man and woman in the world. There are always exceptions.

Yes that is a true statement. for one he/she may not have good listening skills which will break down the communication also their degree of understanding may not be on task which will create another break down in communication. so no they don't always get it.
