I would like to do some line art that is outlined in pen, but I want the line to have different thickness's. I also want the line to be seamless. What sort of pen/pens should I use? Where can I get them?

use "brush" pens. the tip is felt and tapers to a point. with practice you can seamlessly shift the way you hold the pen to create variation in line width. The brand I use is FaberCastel PITT Artist brush pens. They all contain indian ink. I have two sets of six...one in primary and secondary colors, and the other in shades of grey (i beleive they label it as "graphite shades"). I got them at Michael's, if I recall correctly. you should find them in any art store.

With rapidographs you need a different pen for each pen width. They are precision pens meant to have a uniform line. I think what you want is a felt tip marker with the brush tip. Tombow brand is good.

I usually use these pens called "Micron-pro" they're available at most art supply stores and also places like Hobby Lobby and Michaels. If you have a bigger budget (like 30 bucks a pen) get a refillable rapidiograph. Microns are basically disposable rapidiographs. It all depends on the kind of investment you want to make.

I use a brush pen most of the time, since you can get better lines with it, however in a pinch I'll just use a sharpie marker. You can get fine lines and thick lines it just takes a bit of practice.

I agree with the rapidograph answer, altho they do make a disposable model.Or Faber-Castell also makes a good assorted pack of pens, available at art supply shops.Included in the f-c is a brush pen.
