Many of these emails originate from Nigeria, where scamming foreigners of money is one of the top 10 industries in the nation.

Most of these things are something known as 'advance fee' scams, where you are told you will share in millions of dollars, but you need to put a few thousand down to bribe officials, for legal work, or some other reason. The scam goes on for as long as you are willing to keep sending money to keep your hopes alive.

As far as reporting it, the US Secret Service has an email address to which you can forward these emails. They won't respond to you, and who knows how many they investigate, but if you want to feel you are doing your part, forward the email to the US Secret Service at

Copy it onto a printable format.
If it says a company name in it try typing that into the search bar.
You could send the url to your local radio. I know our radio station makes a big deal about it and tries to track them down.
Good luck.

If you have a spamblocker program you can report it to them. Your ISP should also have something to report spam to. My ISP is a local company and even it has an address where I can forward my spam to. Contact your ISP or visit their website to find out how they want it reported.

The recycle bin.

Seriously, reporting it to your ISP does nothing - how do you thyink the phishers get your e-mail in the first place? They buy mailing lists from the ISPs.

i do not study about misused because you are able to get your answer appealed if it truly is been wrongly reported, yet their rules are puzzling to persist with. Any question may be considered "chatting".
