There has been no greater base stealer in league history than Rickey Henderson. Total steals don't tell tell the whole story. Rickey, unlike Hamilton, played in perhaps the most dominant era of baseball..the 80's and 90's. No one disrupted a pitcher's concentration or had catcher's as nervous Rickey. He for a great period of time was a one man gang. There weren't many teams or lots of credible opposition when Hamilton played. Either way, if James "Cool Papa" Bell had been able to play in the Majors, Rickey may still be pursuing the record!

Henderson was unstoppable for about 9 years. 3 times more than 100 stolen. Not to mention at one time he couldn't be walked because it would be a triple.

nobody can ever fade ricky henderson though as a base stealer and baseball player longevity wise
