I am looking for instructions how to make a handbag from a handkerchief with knots not sewing, can you help?

The handbag is made from one handkerchief and tied togetther with knots, no sewing is involved. This was popular during the Kennedy era.

The way I made them was to tie a ribbon on each of the four corners of the handkerchief, and then tie two ribbons together, and two more ribbons together, and twist them, then tie them into a handle.

From the pictures I have seen of the Jaquilene Kennedy bags, they were more like the folded ones in the link I provided, with an ornate broach to hold them shut.
