... purchase just one or two high end items, stock up on vintage finds, go nuts at the Gap? In other words, your guiding shopping philosophy?

I'd wait until August 4th to buy my clothes (mostly jeans, t-shirts, and socks) tax-free, then use the money I saved to pick up something nice for the person who gave me the $1,000 as a "thank you."

I shop at Buffalo X-change. It's a second hand clothing shop. I just bought a $200 pair of jeans for 8 dollars. So I get the couture for cheap. I am a bit of a label fiend, but I hate paying the full price. I'd probably blow $250 of it on shoes though, 'cause I don't buy used shoes. I want to own all Puma sneakers...

I would buy several pieces of quality classic clothing: a good quality suit in a neutral color, a nice bag, shoes and maybe a little black dress. These items will survive most trends and you can mix cheaper trendy items/accessories that go out of style quickly to update the look. For men: a good suit, a few nice dress shirts, good shoes. They are great assets for special occasions & interviews. Designer jeans are also a nice way to update the wardrobe for men and women.

I would buy more things that cost less, but would buy things that are a little more expensive than what I am accustomed to buying. Oh, who am I kidding, I'd do what I always end up doing. I'd go shopping for me, then see some cute things for my little girl and spend all the money on stuff for her. Why do they have to make clothes for little girls so cute!? It's hard to resist, I love shopping for her.

I've been thinking on changing my style a bit, so $1000 dollars would really come in handy. I would probably go to the types of stores that sell name brands at discount prices and buy as much as I could to fit in with my "new image".

I would probably buy high end for the back end...jeans that is. Then I would probably look for vintage shirts. When my grandma was still alive, I would raid her closet...she had some pretty psychedelic looking stuff LOL. Made me wonder if she had a double life when no one was looking =)

I would purchase something normally out of my means, since it was money "given" to spend on clothing.... I consider it free, a gift.
So yes, I would buy something extremely expensive, one item if need be.
