I am 18yrs old and usually pretty normal (within a few days) but this month I'm over 3 weeks late. I did spot once a few days ago but only one spot and that was all (which I never do). I really don't think I'm pregnant. I have no other sign or symptoms of pregnancy. I'm not under any kind of stress and I haven't gained or lost any weight recently or changed anything. I'm just so confused about why I haven't got my period this month. Should I see a doctor or give it another month or so? Thanks for any help!

I have been sexually active the past few months but only a few times. I just don't think I'm pregnant because I haven't been sick or anything like that.

Spotting does not mean you have a period and it's not a sign of having period. Some people are pregnant even when they have some spotting. Some people are pregnant and have no sign of pregnancy until late in their terms. Maybe what you should consider is the following question:

- When was the last time you had intercourse?
- Was it protected?
- Was you on a pill or any medication?
- Did you have unprotected intercourse before your usual period started?

If you answer yes to the last one, you probably wanted to buy a pregnancy test. If it's positive or undetermined, you should go to the doctor to get tested. It's important to acknowledge this early.

But in any cases, I still think it's worth a check to let your mind free up rather than waiting and being anxious about what happen to your body.

I hope this helps.

Well, you said that you were spotting, so that may be a sign that you had your period. Maybe you just missed a cycle or something. But see a doctor to make sure if you're not pregnant. Have you had any sexual activity recently??? If so, then you should definetely see a doctor.
Otherwise, I think that if you miss one period it's okay. Your body's not perfect, so it might skip a period
Good luck!

Well, sugar, if you're sexually active, you better go buy a test at your drugstore and find out. I wouldn't allow myself to worry another MONTH about it, for sure.

It can be perfectly normal to miss a period, but usually this happens due to the things you listed, and you said you haven't had these problems.

Really think this through, if you're not pregnant, about whether the sex is worth the worry....

God bless you, sugar

Personally, I think you should see a doctor to find out if everything is ok. One time my period was late for 3 weeks, and the doctor said that I had a unbalanced hormonal cycle that month. I would go just to be on the safe side. good luck!

hey,
yes, a while ago this happened to me too. I was extremely active and my body was to active healing, and everything for me to go through a period. Also, if you become all of a sudden sexually active, your body gets confused and sometimes it doesn't come for a while. I wouldn't go see a doctor, sometimes our bodies just skip a period. although, if it doesn't come in the next couple months, I'd get it checked out. but all in all. I think you are fine.
