The reason this is said is because it is like an extreme feel of warmth that comes over you like a baby that is cradled in his mother's arms. It's a comforting warmth that God gives when we his children bear witness to him and follow the words of Jesus. You have to remember that fire is not always negative it can be positve too. Instead of saying my adrenalin is high for Jesus, Christians use fire as a figure of speech. In Biblical times and today, a fire could be made to stay warm, alive and comfortable. That's the comparison Christians are making when they say fire. You can either get burned by fire which is a negative but if you use it in other ways as to stay warm, comfortable, and alive, then it is a positive thing.

I don't know for sure but it probably has something to do with the symbolism used when talking about pentecost. The Holy Spirit came down in the form of tounges of fire and people gained the ability to speak in any language to reach the most people so everyone could here the story of Jesus in thier own language. Wouldn't that be a great tool to spread the gospel, wouldn't being on fire like that be a good thing?
