He seems to bash both liberals and conservatives on The Colbert Report. Which side does he take come election day?

in reality, he's pretty liberal. the premise of his show is that he pretends to be ultra-conservative like the hosts of shows on fox news, but then acts like an idiot. it's kind of reverse psychology, in a self-ironizing way.
basically, he makes fun of stupid people who do stupid things. by some amazing coincidence, these people tend to be conservative.

interesting question... personally I think he's liberal... I base this is his work on the Daily Show and the presidential dinner that he spoke at where he compared the Bush Administration to the Hindenburg... he didn't seem to really be joking on that one and that's not very favorable...

But on his own show... he seems to be a parody of the other "conservative talk-shows" like O'Riley.... most of the Conservative points he brings up seem to be much more humorous than serious... but, like the Daily Show, they do keep it somewhat fair and discuss the stupid things the Democratic party does too...

He's a liberal dem just like Jon Stewart - his show is different because he pretends to be a conservative in order to show how ridiculous they are
