kindergarden. They spend half our lives, telling us to take naps, and "Please be quiet children". Then fast foward 10 years and for the rest of our lives we are told to stay awake. I once read a quote that said, "Pain is inevitable, Suffering is optional. The Middle East is a glorious place, why do we have to overgeneralize and discriminate against them. That damn, we as well as the rest of the planet are too dependent upon artifical, or say material items that we neglect to recognize the true spirit of humanity. Death is an inescapable part of life, but should we learn to love one another when that ultimate time comes, we may just recognize true glory and courage. So stay awake and participate in life, for you never know when the last momen will be. Why can't we all just get along?

Because as we 'grow up' we forget a lot of the wisdom we had as children.

Hence posters like "Everything I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten" (or "...Watching Star Trek" for some of us).

I've often wondered whether the instinctive desire to hate/fear/destroy what's different from us may be God's way of attempting to thwart evolution? It seems that the most fervent religious fundamentalists are the ones that promote the most hate/fear-based messages....

Because in kidnergarden we didnt know that life was about the need to be better than the next person and the only way to get there was to stay awake and suffer. Now that we are older we're pissed off no one told us the truth sooner. Hence the phrase--"If I only knew then what I know now." SUCK IT UP!!!!!
