Just let it dry up. That's the best thing to do.

I wouldn't recommend popping them. To answer this also depends where exactly the blister is. If it's from shoes and it's on your feet I suggest you go to a clinic, there are some cool tricks they can do, by aspirating the fluid and filling it with lidocaine etc. If that's not an option then with a sharp sterile object, you need to make a medial incision drain the fluid cut the skin along the entire border removing all of the skin. make sure it's clean. dab some neosporin or bacitracin on it to provide a barrier, or you can apply a bandage to it. And wear sandals or flip flops, keep it clean and at the same time air it out as much as possible and it should heal in no time. If it's some where else you might still be able to use this method. As a general rule don't get your medical advice from the Internet. Your better off going to a Doctor. Some people might recommend you keep the skin on and drain it. That works well too, however, what's the likely hood that you would have access to a syringe or a scalpel for that matter? Your other option is just to leave it be and let nature take it's course. Try to get a hold of moleskin that would help if you cant wear sandals.

Nope, it leaves them open for infection.

However, if you feel that you absolutely must pop a blister, clean it with alcohol first, sterilize a sewing needle to pop it, and afterwards apply a glean gauze and keep the blister covered. It wouldn't hurt to put an antibiotic ointment on the blister before applying the gauze. They say to never, ever pop a blister that is on your hands or face.

NO! You run the risk of a nasty infection. Bandage it, keep it covered and clean until it heals.

But if it's on your foot and you really can't get your shoe back on, then I guess you'll have to pop it. Use a sterile needle, make a single prick on the lower edge of the blister, and gently press out as much liquid as possible. (Ick.) Wipe gently with a clean moist cloth, bandage and keep covered.

There's a new kind of band-aid that sticks really hard (even when you shower) for several days; this allows the blister to drain and heal on its own schedule. Works beautifully for me. You can find them in drugstores. Take care.
