Like, for example, the case of one of the members of the group 'Pink Floyd'?

To date, there has been NO evidence of death as a result of taking LSD

You can stick your hand in a drum of LSD and live. I don't believe a lethal dose has been determined. And it is such a highly regulated drug that government experiments are not allowed.

There is evidence of drug-induced psychosis, but not a lot of research has been done. There's one famous case, but everything about it is anecdotal. Syd Barrett was the original lead singer of Pink Floyd. Supposedly, his sanity unraveled as a result of experimentation with LSD and other drugs.

It would be hard to kill oneself by ingesting LSD. LSD is active in very tiny (microgram) amounts. Someone would have to take 1600 times a normal does to kill themselves. Who can afford that much LSD?

I've heard of people doing that before.
It was a group of paranoid college kids at bonnerroo. They were tripping a little bit and went apeshit. One guy was sure that the band was coming to their tent, and the rest claimed that cops were coming for them. Anyway, three guys drank two vials of acid. They all came down in a week. But since then two of them are just kind of lazy screwups and one of them is pretty normal.

a lethal dose of lsd is generally reckoned to be about 14,000 mcg.

a hit is 1 or 2 mcg.

if you know someone who can accidentally take 7,000 times the normal dose of anything you have some extraordinarily silly friends.

What little I know about the "psychedelic drug", it seems one could destroy his mind with it ("suicide"). I don't know about the dose you're talking off...
... so I really don't know why I'm trying to answer this question.

:)
