I think this is the main hurdle that keeps everyone from becoming a christ. Even Jesus said "All I have shown you, you too will do. Some will do much greater things." BUT NOOO way will your ego let you believe this. Because to reach christhood or mastery, you must first dissolve the ego, and the ego lives on fear, doubt, separation. I was a christian for 27 years, but I have awoken. =)

A battle with one's ego is a losing battle. The human ego is excellent at defense. It is also tricky. It will bend the rules in its favor at all times.

The problem is not dissolving the ego, but disciplining the mind which is the major tool used by the ego. With the mind stilled, there is no battle. The ego can be transcended.

What is the major tool in this quest? Love. Awe. Positive Emotions. Anything except thought.

Very rarely do people understand Christ. It is not that He was sinless, it was that He KNEW He was righteous. That He was inseperable from God without the law. Although, He was born under the Old Covenant and was a Jew, He did follow the law. And he also taught it to its full extent.

I also believe the ego is the antichrist. Metaphorically the bible is evidence of this. Satan did not tempt Jesus with sex, drugs and rock and roll - he tempted Him to prove who He was. Jesus knew He did not have to do anything to show His oneness with God. He just is. As we 'just are'. I am.

Our ego is our desire to attain our righteousness through our own good works or our own faith. This is what Paul referred to as the lusts of the flesh.

When Christians submit to the fact that there is nothing they can do to change what is - then I will stop thinking they are arrogant and self righteous.

It is not the ego, its called intelligent intellectual reasoning other wise known as knowledge. If you don't possess this or you shun this, you will become nothing more than a sheep which is what the 'church' wants.

If you do possess this or keep it, the 'church' will tell you that you are going to hell if you don't change, by change they mean stop thinking for your self and become a mindless sheep.
