Al Gore, like him or not, has just come out with a much needed documentary on global warming. the gop has begun a campaign to smear and discredit Gore; here is a modest example:

"You don't go see Joseph Goebbels' films to see the truth about Nazi Germany. You don't go see Al Gore's films to see the truth about global warming."

has the GOP lost their frikkin marbles? do you think they are backed in a corner and lashing out at anything at this point? why would they not give a damn about an issue that concerns America?

Your question made me think of former Vice President Dan Quayle's butchering of the United ***** College Fund's slogan:

"What a waste it is to lose one's mind. Or not to have a mind
is being very wasteful. How true that is."
-- Vice President Dan Quayle (R)

For the record ... United ***** College Fund slogan:
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

But I digress .... Partly, this is the GOP warming up for 2008. They won't give any points to their sworn enemies the Democrats. Lucky for the GOP, some people will believe the environment is OK no matter what contrary evidence they see. Luckier still, some people will believe anything they are told.

The other thing the GOP is doing is making sure big business runs as usual--on oil and gas. Changing to hybrids, solar, electric, wind, or other alternative power is going to cost big business "a lot of money." "A lot of money" is not something big business wants to spend. Big business, of course prefers to rake in profits, not spend them. Big business would rather spend "a little money" on campaign contributions to get the environmental laws to stay the way they are. One way the environment could be saved would be if big banks and big insurance companies demand congressional aid. Continuing to have to pay out large sums due to increasing natural disasters does not help their bottom line (and they make campaign contributions too). So, in the end one of our saviors, of sorts, could be big businesses. The question is will it be too late then to save our sorry a**es?

FREEDOM IS SLAVERY

IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH"

The 'Grand 'ol Party' have all been driven mad by turning themselves over to the dark side. The leading republicans are the most evil band of men to run this country since Nixon and his boys reigned.
Having said that, I believe the issue of global warming is a serious one that warrants further study but should we really change the way we do things to try and stop it? I don't think we can really do anything to prevent global warming, if it indeed is really occurring, and it sure seems like it is. Eventually humans will all be like mole people who only go out at night to avoid the harmful radiation from the sun. As the Earth's magnetic field weakens, solar winds will ravage the surface of the Earth eventually killing off all plant life. When that happens mankind's extinction is virtually ensured. It may happen slowly enough for us to evolve into a new species better equipped for the hot new Earth.

We can think for ourselves, thanks. But democrats wouldn't know much about that. And it's the dems who are censoring things, haven't you heard of "political correctness," it's not coming from the right.
"why would they not give a damn about an issue that concerns America?"
Because global warming is ridiculous. The earth believe it or not changes. There is very little we could do to prevent the earth from warming, besides most of the pollution comes from VOLCANO'S, not republicans. There are more important things to worry about, like the idiots in the east who would like nothing better than to see the US and all of it's people perish.

actually, they are wrong. If you want to know about nazi germany, you look at ALL documents including goebbels. Just like if you want to know the truth about global warming you look at ALL documents including al gore's. Every thing about a subject has at least a cernel of truth in it, You just don't look at only one source. I suspect that al gore has put those people in a bad light.

I've read certain articles (that may just be beliefs) stating that even if we are going thru a warming period, that the earth has been typically going thru warming and freezing periods throughout it's history.
Now, I don't know if that's true or not, but perhaps they believe it's not that big of a deal. Myself, I'd rather just do whatever helps the environment. Plus I want the U.S. to be more self-sufficient when it comes to power, and not need so much oil.

Would Al Gore go to a film by Dick Cheney?

you have to have a mind first to lose it.

it's just another way for the republicans to censor what we americans watch, read, do or say. smart people will watch, question, and decide for themselves if global warming exists. they don't need gas bags like rush limbaugh telling them what to think.
