As long as it doesn't interfere with any time needed studying or sleeping (which IS important - you won't be able to pay attention without it!).

That depends what your job is. If you are going to do the traditional 4 year, 16 credit route then don't work for more than 20 hours per week that you can't do homework during. I tried more and I couldn't maintain my grades. There just isn't enough hours in a day.
College is much easier if you don't work as well. My opinion is get loans and get very very high grades.

My suggestion is to make sure you live in a coed dorm and quit work. You are about to enter the best years of your life. Do not let them slip by workiing some shiit job and living at home. The loans can wait until your life is over (around age 33) Right now, my advice is to do nothing but study and party. Keep a good balance between those two. The partying seems hedonistic, and it is, but will also help you network later in life which is an important part of being successful.

I worked all through college and am currently working through grad school. You just have to be careful not to take on too much. Remember that the most important thing is your school work, and be prepared to cut back on your work hours if needed. You want to be sure that you don't get overwhelmed. I didn't use my earnings to pay off my student loans, but they did help with basic living expenses--food, gas, etc. I've known people who were full time students and also held full time jobs, and it's definitely a difficult thing to do. Start off with fewer work hours and add more later when you know how much you can handle. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

If you're able to study, have some fun, and party, yes, do it. You don't have to work for too many hours. I think the good thing to do would be to work in order to pay for the rent, bills, food, parties, etc.
On holiday, you can work to pay off part of your loan. I mean, in the US, you have summer break, spring break and winter break. You could choose not to work during one of those and have fun (travelling, maybe). But if you're staying at the same place, you should definitely work. Maybe not all the time, of course.
I'm sure that, even if you work, you'll have plenty of time to study and party! If I were you, I would try for a month or two, and then see if I can do everything.

It depends on if you feel that you can handle the pressures of college and working at the same time. I would suggest that you not work during your first month of courses to see how you will feel. If you think you can manage to do well in your classes and work then go for it.

If your employer is willing to work around your school schedule, then, sure, keep it. It really is a good idea to get a head start on your loans so you don't owe a load of money when you get out of college.

Sometimes, you can get a part-time job at the school. That is an ideal way to still work, get paid a little, but not devote TOO much time to a job. It's also a great way to get involved in the campus!

Yes, you should definitely work during your years at college. It will be difficult but if you keep your priorities straight it will work out and all be worth it. If it becomes too much extra stress with studying and everything you should cut back on the number of hours you work.

It depends on what type of job you have. If it is full time, then prob not. If it's just a part-time deal at some burger shack, then you should probably keep it and save the few extra bucks you get from it. Tough decision, you should probably keep your job. You could save up a few bucks for partyin too!

your student loans will haunt you forever :( definetly keep working and start paying them off, don't just blow it in your free time and it looks good on your credit. just make sure you get a job that understands you are at school and that school is more important. most jobs will understand. my boyfriend and i have been together for 5 years and we both worked and went to our classes (he's in his masters) it's really hard at first but it will get easier
